Commercial Recycling in Elwood, IL

The CenterPoint Intermodal Center at Elwood is one of the largest inland ports in North America. Logistics Park Chicago, BNSF's adjacent terminal, and the multi-million-square-foot DC complexes that surround them run twenty-four seven. CRI runs daily routes into them from our Addison facility.

Built for the Inland Port

Elwood is small in population but moves a staggering share of US freight. CenterPoint Intermodal Center, BNSF Logistics Park Chicago, and the adjacent UP Joliet Intermodal Terminal handle long-haul container traffic from the West Coast to the eastern seaboard. Around them, big-box distribution operators run fulfillment for retailers, food and beverage, consumer goods, and e-commerce.

The waste profile is dominated by one stream: corrugated. Inbound container loads generate high-volume OCC, dunnage, broken pallets, and packaging at industrial scale. Stretch wrap comes off every outbound trailer. Pallet cycles run in the tens of thousands per facility per month. None of it belongs in a compactor priced as garbage.

CRI handles all of it on one agreement, with spotted trailers placed at the dock and state-certified scales on every load.
